Agronomic management to maximize yields and profitability
Profitability in plantation cropping systems is dependent on the inter-related factors of yield, cost of field upkeep ($/ha in production) and cost of production ($/t crop product). High yields are obtained when optimal amounts of inputs (fertilizers, agrochemicals, labour) are used and result in low production costs and high profitability. Relentless focus on standards of field upkeep and maintenance according to standards defined in company standard operating procedures is required to optimize the production system. We place great emphasis on explaining the underlying agronomic principles of each task in the nursery, new plantings and mature plantings so that employees. We think it's essential that field staff understand the objectives as well as the procedures for each task.
